These are terms used in the electroless nickel plating process. Due to its exceptional corrosion resistance and high hardness, this process is ideal for items such as valves and pump parts extending the life of components exposed to severe conditions of service.
There are different levels of nickel phosphorous plating:
- Low-Phosphorus content between 3 and 7%. These coatings have excellent high wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
- Mid-Phosphorus content between 9 and 12%. Corrosion protection and abrasion resistance are good enough for most applications. The plating bath works particularly economically.
- High-Phosphorus content between 10 and 13%. The coatings are very ductile and corrosion resistant. They fulfill the highest demands for corrosion resistance against chlorides and simultaneous mechanical stress. High Phosphorous electroless nickel is standard in industries that require resistance to strongly acidic corrosive environments
At Stat Processing we specialize in high-phosphorous content. By specializing in this process our products have a harder and better wearing surface. The high-phos process is more resistant to corrosion and will have a higher salt spray testing number (1000 hours).
